Information You Submit
A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. A message or email sent directly to us may be retained so we can respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Normal web operations may record technical information when a page loads. That can include:
- IP address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring site, when supplied; and
- access timestamps.
Cookies help measure how the site is used. A browser can block cookies, though some functions may then behave differently.
Reasons We Use Data
Information may be processed for limited operating purposes:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- routing a query to the selected search partner;
- understanding which pages visitors find useful;
- diagnosing errors and technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Links and Advertising
Links lead to Mower County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the receiving organization’s privacy policy controls its collection and use. Advertising providers may also measure activity across sites on their own systems.
Data Recipients
We do not sell personal data. Information may be handled by:
- search partners that process submitted queries;
- analytics providers;
- advertising networks; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Measures
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under our control. No internet-connected service is fully secure, so this notice cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a visitor may:
- ask for a copy of personal data held about them;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion;
- object to or opt out of certain processing; and
- block or remove cookies through browser controls.
Requests may be sent through the Contacts page.

This privacy notice may change as services or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Effective July 26, 2026.
